    So, why have we taken this innovative approach to offering support?

    Many of our clients are struggling with the challenge of doing business in the post-Covid world we now live in. Either their business is facing massive restructuring issues or conversely, they are growing rapidly with little time to focus on process optimisation. In such scenarios Improvement teams have either been ‘furloughed’ as non-essential workers, or their improvement work has been side-lined while they throw themselves into crisis management. Both options miss a huge opportunity to use Lean Thinking now, and in the time of greatest challenge, to ‘steady the ship’ but also to ‘pivot’ lean principles to enable the business to recover and grow more quickly.

    We also know that many businesses would appreciate the support of an External Consultant in helping their Leaders and teams with CI activity. A wise head, or a fresh pair of eyes, is often invaluable support in helping move roadblocks or providing fresh insight and energy. In this world of uncertainty, financial cost control has clamped down on this expenditure, as it is seen as non-essential and discretionary. It’s short-term thinking, and it’s probably a bad decision in the longer term. But it is the current reality in many businesses.

    Even if a business decides to use external Lean support to help, there are often restrictions in getting this person on-site due to Covid-19 restrictions. With no access to ‘gemba’ for the external support, internal CI resource is left to flounder or struggle-on as best they can.

    So, therefore we’ve designed this new product. We can supply mentoring support to either yourself, as a business leader – struggling with some of the new challenges your business is facing, or your CI team – who need our flexible and pragmatic advice and coaching to make the most of the tools they possess to help your business in the best way.

    We’re so confident that we can help you, that we’ve given you two opportunities to evaluate the benefit you are getting from this approach. The first introductory and scoping session is free-of-charge. At that point you may decide you don’t want to pursue the model any further. We also have a ‘built-in’ checkpoint after the second online mentoring session. If at that point you decide you don’t want to use the remaining 4 sessions, we’ll refund you 50% of your initial fee.
